Description

Cari Sanchez-Potter and Sabeen Perwaiz have partnered with Edible Northeast Florida magazine to bring you VICARIOUS Kitchen, an immersive culinary adventure where local cooks from different cultural backgrounds teach intimate cooking classes in private homes around Jacksonville. The workshops offer an opportunity to share the rich cultural diversity of Jacksonville and learn about the many people and cuisines that make up the fabric of our region's culinary identity.

Join us on Sunday, August 28th for a workshop featuring Filipino cuisine from the owners of Cely's Filipino Food!

Mother/son chefs Araceli and Jaycel Adkins will demonstrate some of their favorite Filipino dishes and we'll walk away with recipes, shopping tips, stories and new friends.

Join us on this culinary cultural exchange!

Each ticket includes a welcome snack and drink, the hands-on cooking demonstration, a seated meal with wine and beer, and recipes and shopping tips for you to take home.

The class structure is:

2:00 - 2:30pm Welcome snack and drink / orientation / intros

2:30 - 4:00pm Cooking demonstration

4:00 - 5:00pm Eat

5:00pm Depart

Each class is limited to 12 participants.

Araceli and Jaycel Adkins are the mother/son chefs of Cely's Filipino Food, a Filipino food truck in Jacksonville, Florida. Araceli Adkins has been a chef and small business owner for over 25 years in the restaurant industry. Jaycel Adkins is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and has worked in the family business since he was small. They can be found every Saturday at the Riverside Arts Market and at various events, including One Spark Festival and THE PLAYERS Championship serving their take on Filipino Street Food.
